Eat Healthy and Reap the Benefits Down the Line

People arguably are most self-conscious about their physical appearance.

This is a self-esteem killer, and people will never have any confidence until they are confident in their own skin. So what can you do?

If you are not confident with your body what should be the first step you take? Well, first off you should put down the pizza, throw out the ice cream, and dumb out your soda.

Begin to change the way you eat, and you will gradually experience positive changes in your body. Introduce fresh Fruits and Vegetables, lean meats, whole grains, and an increased water intake into your diet. This will help you get a healthier mind and body.

Eating healthy will give you a positive mental state instead of eating processed food that only does harm to your body.

Work on your Health and Fitness

The most common way people try to better themselves is to go get a gym membership.

Start getting healthy and working on your fitness. It leads back to the self-image issue that many people face.

So what can you do?

"Discipline is one of the key answers on how to better yourself..."

It’s not about getting massive muscles (unless that is what you want), but instead getting healthy so you may live a happier and confident life. You will develop discipline. Discipline is one of the key answers on how to better yourself.

Again, make it part of your lifestyle change, so do your research into what type of workouts you need to do in order to achieve your goal. If you can afford it get a reliable Personal Trainer to assist you, or make sure you take the time to research workouts if you are new to the fitness scene.

Get into a routine and stick to it.

Keep your Mind Active

Take time to relax, and have alone time to slow down and be with your own thoughts.

Not letting your mind slow down is important! Keep it working by reading a book, working on a puzzle, or write your own material.

Working out your brain muscles allows you to make yourself better. Getting away from the video games, computer, and TV and into literature will keep your mind active and allow you to be active in a higher degree of thought.

Hangout with Friends

Do not isolate yourself, because, yes you do need time to work on yourself personally, but you also need to make sure you are around your friends.

However, make sure they are friends that make you better. Do not surround with people who do not have motivation, and drive to be successful, because that will bring you down. Find people who build you up, and push you to be the best that you can be.

What do you want to change in your life? Want to be healthier? Then don’t hang out with people who party all the time.

Want to make your financial situation better? Then surround yourself with motivated people who want to do the same.

Those people who have similar goals in life are the ones you want to be around if you truly want to make real changes in your life.

Communicate with Family

Send letters or messages to your family often. Tell them you love them, and ask how they are doing. Unconditional love is good for the soul, and for your mentality.

It will make you feel wanted, and appreciated. You can look to your family for any guidance you need and they will give you blunt straightforward answers.

Create and Focus on Accomplishing a Bucket List

You want to live your life with no regrets, and that is why you should create a bucket list. Write down the things in life you want to do, see, or experience.

Do you want to travel? Go skydiving? Whatever those desires may be you need to write them all down and work your way to accomplishing them.

Do not wait until you're on your deathbed to finally contemplate on what you should, could and would've done.

Writing down everything you have ever wanted to do is a healthy way to visualize what your goals are.

Apologize to Anyone you have Wronged in your Past

If you remember anyone you may have hurt in your past reach out to them. Tell them you have grown as a person and you want to apologize for the wrong you caused.

Whether they accept it or not you will have a clear conscious and should feel good about yourself. This will help you grow as a person, and hopefully re-establish old friendships and fix any broken ones. It is a good feeling to know you have repaired, or at least tried to repair, any unresolved issues with people.

Write a Letter to Your Future.

Create something for yourself to read 5-10 years from now.

Write about what you are doing now, and what you hope to be doing in the future. Where do you see yourself? Do you have a family? A house? New car? Whatever you see as success in a future write it down for yourself to look at in the future.

Your life may take you to a new direction than what you wanted, but it will be great for you to see where you were in the past in comparison to where you are now.

If you have children then write them a letter to read when they are older. Tell them about your life, and how you wanted to raise them. Tell them you had a method to your parenting, and that you wish the best for them and will always be there for when they need you. Let them know how much you love them, and how proud they are in whatever their lives turn out to be.

What do you think?
