kSafe Time Lock Safe (formerly KitchenSafe)

KSAFE is a canister with a built-in timer and locking mechanism that’s meant to increase will-power and reduce cravings of anything you’re excessively binging on.

Founded by David Krippendorf. David’s tendency to snack uncontrollably after short time intervals impeded on creating a healthy balanced lifestyle. It got to the point that his wife would hide his junk foods to forcibly put an end to his cravings, but in the end, David, always found the food hiding spots. Thus, the idea of the kSafe was born.

The goal of kSafe was to not give up your cravings, but to control it using the timer and locking mechanism of the canister.

For example, setting the time of the kSafe to unlock after dinner to snack. For example, if you’re a cookie eater, locking it up again and setting it to open the same time, for next day, allows users to develop the willpower to stop excessive binge-eating. Ultimately exhibiting health benefits day in, day out.

David was kind enough to send us a sample for review and we love the product so much! I myself have created food-systems around maintaining an adequate diet each day. It allows you to have order in your life.

Not only is the kSafe made for food. But I tried using The kSafe Canister to lock my phone away for 4 hours straight. During the first 4 hours of work. I was tempted to unlock the canister to check on what’s happening on Social Media but the box simply just doesn’t permit it. If you set it at a certain time, it will only open at that specific time. No cheating. Amazing lock-disposal, with great usability, the kSafe is a great way to live a life without distractions.

The kSafe is built very well. The timer is easy to operate and the locking mechanism gives it a good seal even for perishable goods.

I fell in love with the idea and would recommend it to anyone who’s aware of their addictions and wants to proactively do something about it instead of going to the shrink.

It’s a very cool and nifty invention.
