The Best Qi Wireless Chargers Out There

The Best Qi Wireless Chargers Out There

Are you sick of wires being scattered all around? Don’t you wish that you could have a charger that didn’t involve wires that would get frayed and cease to work? Well, look no further. Here, we’ll dive into the best wireless chargers out there, and which ones are the best overall, and which ones are also good as well.

Oakywood Qi Wireless Charger

This is my favorite in terms of design. It takes out the charging cables and is a wireless 10W charger. But, the cool thing about this one, is that it’s made of premium wood, and it’s crafted into one piece of wood, and contains a stainless steel bottom, and corks on the feet so that you’re not scuffing the surface you place it on.

This charger is compatible with most devices that are Qi-enabled, including the iPhone X series. It works with most cases up to about 3 mm thick. The dock is handcrafted into two choices, either walnut wood, or an oak wood, and it contains beautiful geometric shapes and lines. It is made from real wood, with ecological waxes and oils as a finish, and you can see the wood pores that are opened up, which makes it look beautifully sleek and natural.

It does contain a chord for the wireless charger to charge, but it’s made of premium nylon, so you’re not going to have to worry about this charger fraying.

The one downside to this one is the price. It’s almost 100 dollars, which is about five times the price of the cheaper options. However, it charges devices much faster, and the one real plus point to this is how nice it looks. These are perfect to put on a desk if you need that extra little touch, and it doesn't just look like a generic wireless charger, but instead looks sleek and stylish.

Overall, if you’re looking for a wireless charger that’s different, Oakywood has a beautiful model that you will love.

Samsung Qi Certified Wireless Charging Pad EP-PG920

This is another wireless charger and is one of the best for a phone which supports Qi wireless charging. While it isn’t the fastest one, and it doesn’t support the 7.5 watts charging for phones that run iOs 11.2 or newer, it’s a good wireless charger and compared to the more expensive options, you won’t need to spend too much. Since wireless charging is growing more in popularity, this one is definitely worth the price you want to pay.

This one allows for you to use your device while it charges, which is a major plus for those who need to use their phone. You can take calls as well without having to unplug or take this off. It also has a multi-colored LED halo that showcases the status of the charging, but one of the downsides to this, is the fact that it is quite bright compared to the other models, so it may be a bit jarring. But, it does the job well, and it charges devices fast, and for the price it is, you’re getting a quality product you’ll enjoy.

Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand EP NG930

This is another great option if you’re someone that wants to prop their phone up in order to charge it. It charges the iPhone 8 the fastest, but the reason why it isn’t one of the best is that it is slightly pricier than the other model mentioned before. And, if you’re going to be using this charger just to charge it through the night, it may not be worth the money.

This one also allows you to use the device while charging, which is great if you want to look at the screen to search the web, take calls, or even watch videos since the stand can[ prop up your phone without you needing to hold it. Say goodbye to the days where you have to crane your neck to look at the screen with this one. It also uses LED lights for charging status, which might be a bit bright if you plan to use this in the bedroom, and you’re sensitive to light whenever you sleep

Anker PowerPort Wireless 5 Pad

This is another great option where, if the first three are out of stock, or if you want something that isn’t super expensive and design doesn’t matter, this is definitely a great option. However, you will need to provide an AC adapter for these, since they don’t come with them. They charge iPhones at the same rate as Samsung phones, and in some cases is a bit faster, but they’re slightly less expensive. While they do come with micro-USB cables to help with charging, they don’t have a wall adapter. If you do want to charge the wireless charger, you’ll need to buy a separate AC adapter, or use the chargers that phones or tablets provide, which is one of the downsides to this. But, if you don’t like having lights on when sleeping, you can cover the small indicator light easily, so you won’t have to see it. Both of these are essentially the same model, you just need to choose whether or not you want the pad model or the stand model.

The stand allows for versatile viewing, and you can charge this either in a vertical or horizontal manner. The other upside to the stand is, if you have an X series that doesn’t have a home button, you can still unlock your phone with Face ID, and you can watch messages, look at videos, and still utilize your device even when it charges.

Due to the advanced chipset in both of these, usually this device charges at 10% of the time that other devices may charge. However, the one downside to this is well, you need to provide your own AC adapter.

Both of these also are totally safe, eliminating the instances of radiation and overheating, along with other risks that wireless chargers tend to have. There is overvoltage projection, the ability to control the temperature so that it doesn’t overheat, even to the point of foreign object detection, your phone will be protected whenever it’s used.

As another note, if you do try to use the stand with this, typically credit cards or anything with metal on it will interfere it from charging, so it’s best if you keep any of those types of objects away from the charger.

IKEA Nordmarke Triple Pad

If you need to charge multiple devices, this is the best one out there. While it is more expensive than the other options, obviously take into account the fact that this can charge up to three phones at once, and charges everything at the same speed. It does have a 2.4 amp USB-A port on the side for a fourth device as needed. It can also charge bigger devices, including iPads as well, so if you want a universal charger to charge your devices wirelessly, this is one of the best.

The real downside to this one is that the top is slightly slippery, so it may cause your phone to slide off, reducing the effectiveness of the charging.

Typically, this one as well will also make sure that your phone doesn’t overheat. However, this one does warm up a little bit, but once they are fully charged, you will notice that they are cooled when you’re done.

Why Wireless Charging?

Wireless chargers are the future, and the nice thing about them, is you don’t need to worry about cables and other items getting in the way. With a wireless charger, many times you can use it without needing to have it plugged in, as long as you make sure that it’s charged. It’s great, because they can be used on your nightstand when you’re not around, giving you fuel for the day, allows for your phone to charge while you’re at work without having to use up an outlet, and you can even, with some of these models, put it in your car to keep them up while you travel about.

Wireless chargers are perfect for those who are on the go and who don’t want to have to worry about plugging it up. While it is a bit of an incorrect name since you have to plug it into either the USB port or wall outlet, it actually is better known as a magnetic charger, since the Qi models use magnetic coils in order to bring energy to the device, and can power it up. However, since it is considered wireless in all technicalities, it’s still the right term. Wireless chargers are great, and you don’t have to worry about plugging and unplugging cables to charge, and can free up the lightning connector on iPhones, so if you want to use wired headphones, you can.
