A Few Essential Tips for Your Lifestyle Blog

Lifestyle Blog

There is hardly a sweeter gravy train to ride that the one that pays you for doing nothing but living your life and sharing it with everyone –– just look at the Kardashians? This is the dream of everyone beginning their lifestyle blog. But, one of the biggest hurdles for aspiring bloggers can be the technical aspects of the blog that some find confusing and overwhelming.

But you can avoid this issue by considering the following five things that will ensure your practice goes off without a hitch. Take the time to consider how the following advice can maximize the output of your efforts.

1. Pick Your Niche

It seems that everyone and their grandma has their blog today and with all the blogs out there it can be hard to find a spot that will let you be heard above the crowd. There is no time to hesitate and beginning now is important. If you aren’t sure what direction to move, begin with some research on what you can do to provide value to your audience. Stop and think about the bloggers that you really admire and what it is about them that you find so attractive. Consider where your uniqueness lies and how it can be enhanced. Also, think about the companies in the niche and the products you would like to review. If you’re a good blogger, businesses will always want to find suitable bloggers to review products. By considering how you already standout from the crowd, you will find your path to a suitable niche.

2. Pick A Name

Now that you have honed in on your niche, it is time to select your name. You will want to check to see if the name you like is available as a domain, and then see if it is also available on the social media channels you will be haunting. Getting this just right means getting your company name as the domain and social media handle. Don’t worry if the name you want has been taken. 3. Design A Logo

With a name in hand, you need to consider your look. Whether you will do this yourself, or outsource your design to professionals, it is essential that your logo reflects the theme and values of your blog. Make sure your logo carries the elements that you need to reflect your business, your name or something about your life that makes a connection –– this will be the point that decides whether your brand is a success or failure in attracting an audience.

4. Pick a Platform

One of the most important and difficult decisions you can make is where to begin, on which platform to host your domain. In our experience, WordPress offers a great many advantages for bloggers but Blogger and Squarespace are also good spots. Just be sure you choose something you can manage easily. 5. Write 5 posts before beginning

This is something that very few people will actually do, but it is a great idea and just oozes professionalism. Before you hit the “Publish” button and post your first blog, you will want to make sure you already have a good 5 others already and waiting to be published as well. This means that the second you have a viewer they will already have some fine samples of your products to begin perusing over.
