The Hottest Streetwear Looks Featuring Hoodies

Hottest Streetwear

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, a big BIG rock, you’ll surely have come into contact with the streetwear trend that’s swept through almost every wardrobe in the world these past few years. The trend has had huge popularity worldwide and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down just yet, with all the biggest brands still dropping fresh releases of their newest streetwear styles every week. As we’re approaching the winter, we thought we’d give you a look at how you can stay on top of the trends whilst keeping wrapped up by bringing hoodies into your outfits – check out our top tips below!

1) Pick Your Colour

Colour is one of the biggest factors to consider when you’re bringing a hoodie into your outfit. Men’s streetwear hoodies come in a huge variety of styles to suit anyone’s fit, with some looking great and others, well, let’s just say they aren’t to everyone’s tastes. One big thing to make note of is that sitting on the fence between statement style and refined, sophisticated vibes never seem to work – you’ll want to pick one of these themes and completely own it.

For the sophisticated side of things, try a simple navy, black, or grey hoodie in either a zip-up or pullover style – these blend into any outfit with ease without stealing the limelight from your true statement pieces. Simply stick them underneath a bold jacket like a bomber or a ripped denim piece to make the most of their complementary style.

Alternatively, you can make your hoodie the centrepiece of your streetwear ensemble – printed pieces from the big designers (think Gucci, Off-White, Stüssy) are always a big hit when paired with some trousers or skinny jeans. It’s all about finding a style and making the most of it, rather than getting caught between ideas, trying to incorporate those into the same outfit, then nailing none of them.

2) Layers!

You might be tired of hearing about it by now, but we’re going to mention it again because it is our favourite part of winter style; layering your different items allows you to bring an outfit together, which you can’t get away with in the blistering heat of the summer.

Hoodies under jackets has been a go-to look for men across the globe for as long as we can remember – whether it’s a parka, bomber, or sherpa jacket, it always seems to look the part. Wearing a hoodie underneath a jacket gives you the ability to remove and add layers as you like, so you can better manage your temperature to stay comfortable all day long. You can go an extra step further with a zip-up hoodie by sporting a tee underneath; this will give the ultimate effortless streetwear vibe to your outfit.

3) The Finishing Touches

The real make or break moments come in the finishing touches, so you’ll want to make sure that you get those just right if you want to avoid reaching fashion-villain status. Footwear is a massive part of any streetwear outfit, with trainers the preferred choice for most who buy into the trend. If you want something sleek, smart, and modern, box-fresh white trainers are the obvious choice – they’re simple, versatile, and don’t draw too much away from the rest of the fit. On the other hand, you could go for some of the most out-there creps and make them the eye-catching piece that you build your outfit around! Headwear can also be experimented with when it comes to streetwear styles, with dad-caps, cord caps, bucket hats, and retro gear all making a comeback in this athleisure-inspired trend.

Streetwear is a style that’s open to interpretation and it’s natural for everyone to have their take on things, but it’s the bold experimentation that keeps outfits progressing, updating, and improving, so never be afraid to try something new! Be sure to keep your fit unique, too; a “store-bought” look (i.e. an outfit that looks like it’s straight off of a mannequin) completely defeats the expressive and eccentric nature of streetwear, so try to embed a bit of your personality into every outfit you curate!
