We’re only concerned with our comfort and this is the main reason why don’t want to push ourselves. This fear of pain, rejection, disappointment and failure is why we get anxious at the thought of facing life’s challenges and obstacles. You’d want to procrastinate pretty much every day.

Remember that majority of our problems are caused by the annoying personal bubble including frustration and disappointment in find our life purpose.

So how do I Discover “What’s My Purpose?”

Find a comfortable spot in your home to perform this simple exercise.

Yes, all you need is a piece of paper and of course, your favorite pen to write down answers to the following questions:

  1. What do you think is the real purpose of your life?
  2. What goals do you want to achieve?
  3. Have you put together goals or objectives for yourself in let’s say six months, one year, five years and even ten years?
  4. What motivates you to push harder?
  5. What is your source of motivation and encouragement when life pulls you down?

This is it – wasn’t it easy? If you thought you had to answer lengthy or complicated or fancy questions, relax and take a deep breath.

Interestingly, that faint voice inside your head would have answered all questions pretty quickly.

After, you only had to talk to your real inner self and find the answers.

Here’s a friendly reminder. You can write down whatever comes to your mind without feeling guilty or judging yourself.

Also, there’s no need to filter or train your thoughts at this stage. Even if you write down things like ‘I want to become healthy’ just give it a go.

Stop Over-thinking!

What you are trying to do here is find a goal or thought that defines your life and it is important that you don’t filter out anything.

It’s not surprising that you go blank at times. If you cannot come up with an answer, simply move to the next question.

Remember; taking a quick break will definitely help something new and exciting pop up in your head.

I Have Fears and Doubts

Fear and doubts are an integral part of human thinking and last thing you should do is to allow them to accumulate in your mind and tarnish the thinking process.

If doubts and negative thoughts emerge, again and again, write them down and figure out how you can overcome them with the help of SMART goal setting.

I’m getting nowhere!

Half-way through the exercise, you may decide to quit.

After all, why are you doing this exercise in the first place! Well, you have to get closer to the goal that evokes your strongest emotions and resonates with the depth of your soul because this is your true purpose in life.

Don’t be frustrated if you feel tired after the first couple of questions and can’t continue.

Just keep fine-tuning your answers until you feel everything about it is right.

But what’s My Purpose Exactly?

Your life’s purpose is there inside you waiting to be uncovered. When you discover your true purpose in life, you will see things from a less self-centered approach.

You will realize that life isn’t about making everyone happy or fulfilling our own empty temporary pleasures.

There’s more to purpose in life than trying to meet our selfish pleasures.

Remember, your real purpose is to make the world a better place. See how you can control your mind, your body, your daily actions, and habits to create something that will benefit those around you.

You can even think about the pain and suffering of other people and figure out ways to resolve them.

Conclusion: What’s My Purpose – a Wider View

Finding your life’s purpose isn’t for your own betterment. You find the motivation to take specific actions that can make people’s lives better.

Yes, the career you choose or paycheck you earn is not important. What really matters at this stage is the bigger purpose in life.

To find your purpose, you have to understand that not everything is related to you or your feelings.

That’s right. Expand your mind and soul and see the bigger picture. If others treat you badly, it’s their fault, not yours.

It is important that you wish others well and genuinely want their happiness.

You just can’t go around helping every person or solve everyone’s problems, but you can make their lives better.

Even a smile can make someone’s life better and you will be pleased with your efforts.
