Building a Home Gym A Guide

Building a Home Gym

Whether you are keen to lose weight, build muscle, or simply start leading a healthier lifestyle, the best course of action is to build a home gym. There is research to show that the chances of you reaching your fitness goals are greatly improved if you work out at home in your own space as opposed to joining a gym. Never mind the fact that the Coronavirus pandemic has left you with little choice in the matter! The question is, where do you start and what will you need? Follow this handy guide.

Home Gym

Select a suitable space

If you want to maximize your motivation to keep pushing, you should set up a home gym in a room that you can completely dedicate to fitness. Simply placing a treadmill or a stair machine inside your study probably isn’t going to cut it. Unless, of course, it is the only space available. Ultimately, if you’re dedicated, you can make any set up work for you!

Splurge on equipment

Now comes the fun part – the act of filling your home gym with a host of incredible equipment. It is recommended that you invest in a balance of essentials. Half of the equipment should focus on cardio exercise, while the other half should focus on strength training. The most effective exercise schedules will draw workouts from both groups.

Concerned about cost? Understandably. Gym equipment is far from cheap. There are a few easy ways in which to fund the set-up of your home gym. If you don’t have the cash on hand, you can opt to use your credit card or think about taking out a loan. Payday loans are perfect if you only need to supplement your savings and can pay off the rest in the short-term. Personal loans are the other alternative if you need to take advantage of a more extended repayment period. Cash Lady is an excellent example of a lender that offers both and is safe and secure.

Be sure to investigate your options in terms of second-hand gym equipment, too. There are a few suppliers out there that specialize in pre-used gym equipment that looks as good as new but is half the price! Be sure to check out websites like Grays Fitness.

Spruce it up

The best home gyms will have plenty of natural light, a few beautiful plants for an oxygen boost, lots of windows aiding improved airflow, minimal clutter, and a mirror to help you work on your form. If you love listening to music while you exercise, or if you love doing workout videos or following fitness tutorials, you can also consider setting up a sound system or a TV inside the space.

Get organized and get started

Add the finishing touches, such as a few shelves and storage cabinets for your essentials, and voila. Your gym is ready to be used. Now it is time to put it to the test!

All that’s left to do is to continue to inspire yourself to keep pushing forward. Your fitness goals are well within your reach now that you have an epic home gym working in your favour.
