From ‘Meh’ to Mighty: 6 Natural Ways to Increase Your Energy and Improve Your Overall Health

Whereas in years past, you may have seemed to always have plenty of energy from morning until night, you may now feel fatigued throughout your day. This can happen to men, young and old, and can make life frustrating in many ways. However, you can go from feeling lackluster to powerful in no time by using a few natural ways to improve your energy and health. If you’re eager to feel once again mighty and invincible, here are some things to try.

Natural Ways to Increase Your Energy and Improve Your Overall Health

Limit Your Stress

If there is one thing that will sap your physical and mental strength day after day, it is stress. Whether from personal responsibilities, a heavy workload at work, or a combination of both, chronic stress will consume a tremendous amount of your energy daily. To help reduce your stress and feel energetic, try various relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, or tai chi. Talking about your concerns with a family member, close friend, or even a counselor may also help you feel better.

Get Plenty of Sleep

One of the easiest things to improve men’s health is getting a good night’s sleep. While the amount of sleep needed each night to feel refreshed the next day varies from person to person, most experts agree you should get at least seven hours of sleep each night to feel at your best each day.

Suppose you have trouble falling asleep at night. In that case, you should try such things as listening to relaxing music, staying off your phone and computer before bedtime, or perhaps meditating for 10-15 minutes before going to bed.

Stay Hydrated

If you think drinking many cups of coffee daily or guzzling one soft drink after another will help boost your energy and health, you are sadly mistaken. Although the caffeine in these drinks will give you a short-term buzz, the following crash will make you feel worse than ever. To keep your energy levels high, stay hydrated by drinking at least two liters of water throughout your day. When you are dehydrated, this decreases your energy level and makes it very hard for you to focus and concentrate.

Eat High-Energy Foods

As a man who always wants to have lots of energy to work hard and play hard, you should make eating high-energy foods a top priority in your quest for additional energy and better health. Some foods you should eat plenty of include:

  • Bananas
  • Nuts
  • Fish
  • Oatmeal
  • Honey

If low testosterone is a problem for you, try adding honey to your diet. Loaded with boron, honey can help keep your testosterone levels high while keeping your bones and muscles strong. Eating a banana will also quickly boost your energy since it contains many carbs, potassium, and vitamin B6.

Exercise Regularly

Exercising several times per week will not only decrease your chances of developing heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, but it will also greatly improve your energy levels daily. Numerous studies have shown that incorporating only moderate amounts of exercise into your weekly routine can significantly improve your sleep quality, cognitive function, mood, and fatigue levels. Easy ways to exercise during the day include taking a walk during your lunch hour at work, taking the stairs instead of an elevator, and walking or biking to work instead of driving your car.

Limit Your Alcohol Intake

Although alcohol can help you feel drowsy and relaxed, drinking it before bedtime will impact your ability to get a good night’s sleep. Since alcohol is a diuretic, so it will increase your urine production. Thus, if you have a drink or two before going to bed, it won’t be long until you make multiple trips to the bathroom during the night, causing you to feel fatigued the next morning.

The Bottom Line

Whether you eat a banana instead of a cookie, take a walk during your lunch break, or try some stress-reduction techniques, it won’t be long until you are surprised at just how much more energy you have day after day. By taking care of your physical and mental health, you can feel more energetic, productive, and overall better equipped to handle life’s challenges.
