Factors to Consider When Buying CBD

When it comes to buying any CBD product, there are several different factors that you should consider before handing over your hard-earned money! There are hundreds of different CBD products available on the market, and because of this, it can be challenging for CBD beginners to choose a product that suits their needs. Over the last two or three years, thousands of new CBD companies have entered the CBD market and flooded it with new products.

One of the most attractive aspects of CBD is its versatility. This versatility allows it to be incorporated into oils, tinctures, capsules, edibles, creams, balms, sprays, and vape juices. With all these products available, how do you choose one that suits you?

So, how do you choose a premium CBD product that suits your requirements? Below we’ll list some of the different factors that you should be considering if you’re thinking of buying any CBD products. If you are looking for CBD edibles, try out these.

Factors that you should be considering when you’re thinking of buying any CBD products!

  • The Delivery Method

CBD oils, edibles, and tinctures have a low bioavailability. Most estimates put it the final amount of CBD that makes it your bloodstream at between 10 and 20%. In comparison, CBD vape liquids are closer to 40% as the CBD is absorbed via the thin layer of tissue in the lungs. The downside to CBD vape liquid is that the effects don’t last as long as oils and other edibles and require frequent dosage throughout the day.

Creams and balms are more localized and effective for use on joints and muscles. They can be applied directly to the skin where they are absorbed and make their way into the bloodstream.

Different delivery methods will produce different results. One of the big things that you need to look at is the bioavailability of the product. What’s bioavailability mean? It’s basically how much of the CBD enters your bloodstream and how long the effects last.

  • Hemp Oil Versus CBD Oil

Always check the products’ ingredients to ensure that it contains cannabidiol. Avoid products that don’t specifically mention cannabidiol as an active ingredient. Things like cannabis oil, cannabis sativa oil, hemp oil, hemp extract, and cannabis extract are all signs that it’s just hemp oil and not CBD oil.

Unfortunately, with the increase of CBD’s popularity, we’re seeing more and more hemp oil products being passed off as CBD. While hemp oil has its natural properties, it doesn’t contain any CBD.

  • Laboratory Testing Results

Legitimate CBD companies aren’t afraid to back up the quality of their CBD products with third-party independent laboratory results. These will show you what the CBD content is of the product and also that it’s free of heavy metals, herbicides, and pesticides.

  • Environmentally Friendly

Look for CBD products that are grown using eco-friendly farming practices, non-GMO, and organic. One important thing you should always look for is where the CBD was sourced from. Hemp grown in the USA has to meet strict federal guidelines, which helps to protect consumers. Avoid CBD that is produced from hemp grown in China, where farming practices aren’t as tightly monitored.

Now that you know what to look out for and what to avoid, hopefully, you’ll have a much clearer idea of what you’re looking for in a CBD product. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
