A Guide On Making An Instagram Feed That Catches The Eye

It’s all about looking good in your feed, but that can be more tricky than it seems at first glance. There are all kinds of ways to go about your feed and a plethora of handy helpers too. For example, nobody can be without a blemish remover app, so check it out here

We’ve put together some handy tips and hints in our guide to your Instagram feed, so hopefully, you can apply them to achieve the right feel for you!

Color combinations

Color Tone

Too many folks try to do too much in terms of colors. While we all like things to be colorful, it can also create a dazzling effect that confuses our brains. Select a palette that you like, and try to keep things in that range.

Not only will this be less of an overload for people looking at your feed, but once you’ve selected your basic tones, it lends towards your theme as well. It’s like a key that lets people open up the door to your world, and that’s the aim here.

Overall Theme

It’s just good to have a theme. In tandem with your color tone selection, having a basic theme helps people know what’s happening. It provides a kind of framework for others so that they can anticipate things more fully.

This doesn’t mean you have to pick a narrow zone and stick to that religiously. It just means you have a general direction you’re heading with most of your stuff. It also helps to gain a following of like-minded people out there.

Editing

The editing options for photographers nowadays are vast. There’s not much we can’t do to an image now, so there’s every reason to take full advantage here. You will know better than anyone else how you want things to look, so edit away!

You can adjust compositional elements by cropping stuff or even completely removing certain unwanted features from the image. There are also all sorts of tonal effects to choose from, so there should be something that works for your look.

Specific Filters

Just as with the color palette mentioned above, too many people get hooked on filters. It gets to the point where every image seems to have a completely different filtering effect on it, and this can make things more confusing than they have to be for the viewer.

Again, you’re looking to create a certain feel to your thread. When you use filters, try to stick to one or two main ones, so that the filtering choice leans into the tonal and thematic elements you’re looking to achieve.

Oversight

As part of the process of instantiating the above hints in our guide, you’re probably going to end up putting in a bit of oversight, at least initially. Combing through your profile and getting rid of stuff is possibly a good first step.

Be ruthless. It may be a bit painful to do, but the rewards for managing your feed will show before long. There should be little confusion and randomness, and your feed should get that sharper and more focused feel right away.

Last Word

When you do these things right, the effect can be immediate and profound. It’s much more effective when you keep things simple, so that your followers feel comfortable while scrolling around on your feed.

We’re creatures of habit, us humans. We like what we like, and we avoid what we don’t. By focussing correctly, you can create a feed that doesn’t confuse folks and put them off in any way. That’s the basis of generating a strong crowd.
