Our friends over at Coros was kind enough to send us a sample of their Coros Omni Smart Cycling Helmet for us to try out and here’s what we think about it!
The design resembles the head of a motorcycle sports bike with meticulously engineered air vents that streamlines air flow and head cooling capabilities even on the hottest of days with less amount of drag.
The EPS foam and the polycarbonate outer shell houses the LED light with sensors at the back side of the helmet. True to its name, the Omni Helmet also has a built in speaker and a 700mah Li-thion battery to the power the safety lights and the speaker.
It only weighs 340 grams which lessen neck strains making it perfect for long rides. The Coros also has a wireless remote to control your music, voice navigation and even calls.
We’ve tested the Omni for a ride and we at the office are well impressed. It fits snugly on our heads because of its very comfortable EVA padding. The speaker sounds clear without interfering with the sound of traffic. The straps are comfortable on the chin and the locking mechanism feels safe and sturdy. The LED lights re strong enough even on foggy surroundings.
Overall, it’s not only for serious bikers, it’s also perfect for daily commuters. It enhance rider’s visibility on the road making it safe on traffic. We love it!
