Medications

If you’re suffering from another medical condition and you’re regularly taking medication, then it’s worth speaking to your doctor about the possible connection between your erection issues and your current medications. Blood pressure medicines, anti-depressants and even pain killers are notorious for harming our sexual abilities. Even recreational drugs such as cocaine and marijuana can also exacerbate ED. Depression

It’s a vicious circle and one that is difficult to get out of. You’re feeling low due to various factors and the medication you’ve been given to help manage and treat your depression is now causing issues in the bedroom department. Also, if you’re already struggling with depression and you’re finding it near impossible to sexually satisfy yourself or your partner then that can make these feelings of depression even worse.

Performance Anxiety

If you’re worried about your sexual performance and letting your partner down, then chances are you’ll do just that. Anxiety has a direct link to ED, and it can also leave you wanting to avoid any kind of intimacy with your partner.

Stress

We all know that stress can be a killer. And even more so in the bedroom. When you’re concerned about work, financial issues, and life, in general, how can you be expected to concentrate on your sexual performance? If you’re struggling with stress and it’s beginning to affect different areas of your life then consider adapting more of a relaxed lifestyle. Speak to your boss about issues at work and spend more time with friends and family.

You’re Overweight

Carrying around excess weight can have a detrimental effect on both your libido and your ability to get and maintain an erection. Men who are classed as overweight have lower levels of testosterone, which is the hormone that gives you your sex drive. When you’re overweight you’re also susceptible to high blood pressure which means a restricted flow of blood to the area where you need it the most.
